Terminology:-

Knowledge of terms :

  1. Shido (light penalty for minor infringement)
  2. Hiki-waki (contest draw)
  3. Uke (The defensive or defending judoka)
  4. Tori (The offensive or atacking judoka)
  5. Hantei (Decision - referee's command requesting a decision from the corner judges at the end of the contest)

Demonstrate referee's signals for the following Club Coach to demonstrate :-
  1. Matte (Stop):- stretch arm out in front of body at shoulder height with palm facing table judges or score boards
  2. Osaekomi (Hold down):- stretch arm in front of body over players with palm facing downwards
  3. Toketa (Hold broken):- stretch arm in front of body over players with thumb uppermost and wave from left to right several times
  4. Adjusting judogi :- Stand upright with arms hanging against your torso but crossed in front of you and face player tht needs to adjust his judogi, if both players need to adjust referee should turn to each one in turn with the same signal
